A rough time line

In general, my entire writing/composing process is a fairly long one. 

First, I'm given the assignment. At this point, the task usually seems like way too much to take on at one time and I don't even want to think about it. I get all 


Then i just kind of push the task to the back of my mind for a few days or a couple weeks--depending on how far off the due date is. I'm always pretty care free during this time. It's not that I completely ignore and forget about the work, I'm simply waiting for inspiration to strike. I don't believe in pushing the process because I don't get my best work that way. 

Then one day *ding*


the light bulb does off. Once I'm inspired, I get on a roll. I'll fall asleep reading books and write like a mad woman while watching movie after movie on TV or sketch until I run out of pencils. This part of the process actually goes by pretty quickly, once I get started everything just seems to come together. The only time I stop is usually when I'm hungry or I just can't stay awake any more.

Then comes to editing: punctuation, sentence structure, grammar and all of that. Essentially, trying the paper/assignment as perfect as I can. 


Once the entire thing is over and I turn in the assignment in, I go out and get a drink at a
